Therapy Services
Whether you are accessing therapy for the first time or returning, we understand that reaching out can be difficult, especially when things feel hard to manage.
We’re here to help make the first steps feel easier, with flexible options to meet in person or online. At the practice, sessions take place in a comfortable therapy room, suitable for individuals or couples.
Our experienced counsellors offer a confidential, non-judgemental space to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and find a clearer path forward.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy at Eltham Counselling allows you to work through personal difficulties in a way that feels contained, structured and genuinely supportive. We are here to ensure you feel listened to and understood.
During your sessions, you have space to talk openly about what you’re experiencing, just between you and your counsellor. When you’re working with one of our counsellors, we take time to explore what’s on your mind, make sense of it together, and consider new perspectives that can help you move forward in ways that feel right.
We aim to help you understand your difficulties and feel more able to respond to them in a way that works for you.

Couples Therapy
When communication within a relationship becomes difficult or conflicts repeat, couples therapy at Eltham Counselling helps you better understand how you relate to each other and work through challenges in clear, constructive ways.
We understand that it can be hard to find perspective and balance when a relationship becomes strained. In your sessions, our counsellors help keep the conversation focused and balanced, so you can both feel heard.
We help you notice how communication patterns affect your relationship, and why difficulties can develop and escalate. Together, we look at how external factors such as family values, lifestyle, culture or past experiences may be influencing your relationship.
We aim to help you develop a clearer understanding of each other, improve how you negotiate and resolve conflicts, and find ways to move forward.

Short-Term Solution Focused Therapy
Short-term solution focused therapy addresses a present concern by helping you to make meaningful changes in a shorter timeframe, typically over 5 to 8 sessions.
Our counsellors use a collaborative approach to agree on a shared focus and clear direction for your sessions —reflecting and building on what works for you already, and identifying what is achievable. As the sessions progress, you can also review and talk through next steps with your counsellor.
Short-term therapy is especially beneficial when you have a particular goal to achieve or problem to resolve.
